Within the general public sector already low IT budgets usually find themselves at rock bottom of the priority list, with numerous other considerations - and therefore the occasional political football - live .

Public sector IT departments are making the foremost of what they need for an extended time now, eking out budgets and sweating assets and doing their best to hold onto talent which may be tempted by higher salaries elsewhere.

But the mixture of stretched resources and societal importance are a call for participation to cyber criminals, who often target public sector organisations for attack.
